I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the recent DJ /Rupture and Sagan
releases. Both are excellent, but in different ways.
Who woulda expected the variety on the DJ /Rupture release? With some
proper programming, it varies between either a wife-friendly CD or a "eek"
cd. Lots of light songs with lovely voices, upbeat pop, and crunchy noisy
beats. Great variety, though perhaps too varied for being a single artist
release? (Tons of guests on the CD, especially in the variety of singers.)
Sagan is something to be seen, and maybe heard. While the music is alright
(a lot different than you'd expect from Lesser/Wobbly/Blectum), the
interaction with the video productions is perfect and very
interesting. Great match of video and sound that I've ever seen, up there
with the Coldcut/Hexstatic work of old (perhaps even better as the videos
actually tell a story).
Tra-la,
Me.
